Mark Blount - 7"0" C - 10 year NBA Career

During the 1999-2000 season we began working with Mark Blount, a 7'0" C, 10-year NBA veteran, who left U. of Pittsburgh after his soph. year. He declared for the 1997 NBA Draft and was selected in the 2nd rd. by the Seattle Supersonics. After getting released by Seattle, Mark bounced around the minor leagues and was out of basketball for the 1998-99 season. Up to this point in his career, Blount's story was one like many young players without proper guidance. Unfulfilled potential was a common phrase used to describe Mark's talent.

In Dec. of 1999, Hart Sports devised a structured training program which was designed to take Blount from a minor league reserve to a guaranteed NBA contract. Through intense training with the Hart Sports staff of strength coaches and basketball trainers, Blount was able to gain 25 pounds of muscle as well as increase his skill level. In July of 2000 Blount signed a two year contract with the Boston Celtics. The focused attention that Mark received from Hart Sports was instrumental in his NBA career.
